Matthew 22:36-40 shows us that a loving relationship with God is the most important thing in life, and the second most important thing is our relationships with others. We were made for relationship, and God uses relationships to work in our lives. He can also use the therapeutic relationship to foster spiritual, emotional, and relational healing, growth, and encouragement as we invite him into the counseling process. Deborah’s faith in Christ and her knowledge of biblical application are the plumbline of her approach to counseling. Her professional experience as well as her life experience as a wife, mother, a parent who has lost a child, and the parent of an adopted child also inform her approach to counseling and give her a unique understanding of issues related to loss and adoption.
